Holiday Weekend Travel

Mississippi Highway Patrol reports there have already been two deadly crashes for the Memorial Day Weekend throughout the state.
Trooper First Class Chase Elkins tells News 25 there have been seven accidents here along the Coast. Out of the seven accidents, only two injuries were reported.
Many locals and visitors flocked to the beach, causing some traffic along Highway 90.
Law enforcement officers across the Coast are buckling down on drivers to wear their seatbelts and be responsible behind the wheel and residents are asking travelers to do the same. Resident Chris Roach said, “Of course there’s more. There’s quite a few more people on the beach this weekend than normal, but like I say during tourist season, especially during a holiday weekend, it’s not bad down here. When you’re driving around, you always see crazy people but I hope everybody’s doing the right thing.”
The Click it or Ticket campaign runs until June 5th.
