Holiday giving with the Salvation Army
The season of giving is upon us. The Salvation Army is one organization that is always busy with holiday outreach events during the fall and winter.
Starting today and running through January 6th, the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Biloxi is starting its Holiday Shape Up eight-week fitness challenge for just $25.
The challenge comes with access to all fitness amenities and the chance of winning a full gym membership if you win the fitness challenge.
The Salvation Army is also set to begin its notable Red Kettle Campaign across South Mississippi.
The goal this year is to reach $285,000. Salvation Army Area Director Major Jerry Friday says the Red Kettle Mission helps provide social services to families. “We used to have this little slogan on all of our kettle signs that said ‘your change makes change.’ So, we’ll take your change. We’ll take your dollars, we’ll take your credit card donations, we’ll take your checks. We’ll take anything and we will use it to change lives.”
