Highway 90 Pearl River Bridge closed through January 6th
Work on the Pearl River Bridge on Highway 90 in Pearlington is taking longer than expected. What was supposed to take two weeks is now stretching into the new year.
According to MDOT, the Highway 90 drawbridge over the Pearl River won’t reopen until January 6th.
That route was often used by people who wanted to avoid backups on I-10, but now, Highway 90 traffic in Pearlington at the state line will have to use I-10 as an alternate route.
The bridge is closed for emergency repairs which were necessary after a bridge inspection found some of the bridge supports had severely deteriorated.
