Highway 90 crash kills one woman

One woman is dead after a fatal crash that happened in Jackson County on Highway 90 near Haley’s Circle just after 9 a.m. yesterday.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, the woman has been identified as 27-year-old Kelsey Smith of Moss Point. A Chevy Suburban driven by a 41-year-old man of Moss Point was traveling westbound on Highway 90 in the right lane. A Ford Expedition was also traveling west on Highway 90.

The Ford attempted to merge left and the front passenger side of the vehicle crashed into the rear driver’s side of the Chevrolet. The Ford went off the road, crashing into a tree.

The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to Singing River Hospital with minor injuries. The driver and three passengers of the Ford were transported to Singing River with minor injuries. Smith, who was unbuckled, was pronounced dead at the scene.
