Highway 49 Wreck in Gulfport

On December 09, 2015 at approximately 9:31 a.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to the area of Highway 49 and Community Road in reference to a motor vehicle crash with injuries.
The on scene investigation revealed that a GMC Sierra was southbound on Highway 49 and attempted an eastbound turn toward Community Road. The GMC failed to yield and turned in front of a UPS delivery van that was northbound on Highway 49. The GMC was then struck to the passenger side.
Gulfport Fire Rescue and American Medical Response (AMR) were dispatched to the scene to assess injuries. The driver of the GMC Sierra transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries received during the crash.
