Highway 49 in Stone County covered in ice

Heading north into Stone County, roads are slick, making for dangerous driving conditions.
Highway 49, Stone County’s busiest roadway, is covered in ice. You might also notice there’s a more visible blanket of snow covering the ground. That’s because the inland areas saw more sleet and snow than coastal areas.
While it’s a beautiful sight, don’t be fooled. Under that sleet is a thin glaze of ice making travel difficult in many locations.
Not even frozen roadways and single digit wind chills could stop some youngsters from venturing out into the elements.
