High School students across the Coast compete in DECA Competition

High school students from across the Coast showcased their business and marketing skills at the annual DECA District Competition.

DECA is a student organization for marketing students that helps prepare them to be emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and business management.

In the DECA competition, students were given a business problem and then had to act out the scenario with a judge.

The students explained to the judge how they would solve the business problem. District DECA Coordinator Wyatt Gregory said, “It is fun to sort of dress up and gather here for a conference and also just for an education experience, being able to sort of get this type of experience and real world scenarios so they can be more prepared for their careers. That is the main goal.”

Students were able to compete to earn their place at the Mississippi State Competition and then on to Nationals.
