High School Girls Basketball: St. Martin vs. West Harrison

St. Martin Head Girls Basketball Coach Gina Bell said, “Well, I had no idea that all the pregame festivities were going to happen. That was a shock to me. And I’m so thankful and just humbled just by the outpouring of love and support from not only my assistant coaches and the girls but the fans and my family, but I did want the focus to be on the girls. I’m a behind the scenes type of person. I look around and I see life in a different perspective. If we lose a game, it’s just a game. I’ve got these kids around me, family, friends, my assistants and we’re going to be here together tomorrow.”

News 25’s Jaylon Morris took us through Gina Bell’s recovery story and her recent battle with breast cancer. Tonight, the St. Martin basketball community celebrated her 200th win which came in a 46-23 triumph against D’Iberville last Tuesday.

Even on a night that was more about life, love and victories off the court as much as on them, it was still about Coach Bell’s players going after win number 201 on Senior Night.
