High School Girls Basketball: Harrison Central defeats Gulfport to win Region 8 Class 6A Tournament

In the girls championship game, it’s part three between Harrison Central and Gulfport.

Red Rebelettes just beat the Lady Admirals by more than 40 last week, but this one would be a lot closer.

Harrison Central gets to bring the trophy back on the bus with them with an 82-68 victory over Gulfport.

Harrison Central Head Coach Nancy Ladner said, “Yeah, it was a little closer than last time. But the one thing that I think that we’ve learned is that we’ve learned to find ways to win. This team here this year, they don’t quit. They keep battling until the end. And it’s like we said, we play one quarter at a time and I think that’s what they did tonight. It’s tough to beat a team three times in one season, but I think they battled and that’s their advantage, I think they find ways to win.”

The Rebelettes get a first-round bye to start the class 6A playoffs.
