High School Football Preview: Resurrection Catholic Eagles Soaring into Second Round

Resurrection Catholic is staying put in Class 1A and hoping to stay put into the next round of the playoffs.
The 10-2 Eagles are one of the three Coast teams left in post-season contention heading into Friday’s game at 12-1 Nanih Waiya.
This is the third straight season Resurrection has made it to the second round of the playoffs. In fact, it was this point two years ago the Warriors put the Eagles out.
This time around, the 2015 runner-ups are battle tested and ready to finish the job. Resurrection Catholic Head Coach Scott Sisson said, “It doesn’t matter if it is 1A or 6A, if you’re a real coach then you want to be successful every week that you can be. So as a coach we try to prepare them for that. Sure we want to win every game, but we talk about to the kids about giving the effort and let the winning take care of itself.”
Resurrection Catholic outside linebacker Becht Rowell said, “They just don’t know what kind of heart we have. I think that’s what sets us apart because we just have that heart and that work ethic. We don’t give up. We pound it all game long, all four quarters so we’re never going to give up no matter what.”
Resurrection and Nanih Waiya kick things off from Louisville at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
