High School Football: Long Beach vs. Greene County

Just five weeks into the high school football season, the top dogs are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Tonight there was only one match-up of two undefeated teams on the Gulf Coast between Long Beach and Greene County. The Bearcats came in with a record of 3-0 with a chance to win four or more games in a season for the first time since 2011.
Greene County wins this one 20-14.
The only other undefeated match-up wasn’t technically on the Gulf Coast, as Hancock made the voyage out to Lakeshore, Louisiana. Titans win 51 to 23.
Biloxi doing the same over at Northshore, looking for its first win of the 2017 campaign. Final score in that one is Panthers 34, Indians 21.
One more school looking to stay perfect is the Poplarville Hornets, also on the road, against a dangerous Heidelberg team. The defending 4A South State champs come out of it with a 33-14 win to advance to 5-0 heading into district play.
