High School baseball: Vancleave vs. Pearl River Central

As much fun as we’re going to have next week when both the 5A baseball and softball south state finals feature two Coast teams, Vancleave and Pearl River Central still having fun in the third round.

After each team stole a road win in games one and two, Blue Devils hosting for all the marbles in game three.

Bulldogs win 6-2.

Vancleave heading to the semi-finals, joined by Resurrection Catholic.

For the Ocean Springs Lady Greyhounds, their lead doesn’t hold up in a road loss at Petal. Lady Panthers heading to South State.

That sets up a big weekend ahead for five Coast teams. East Central and Vancleave doing the honors in 5A South State for baseball and then East Central and George County in 5A baseball.

Finally, RCS reigning 1A South State champs are back again.
