High School Baseball: Oak Grove at Gulfport

The last three times the Gulfport baseball team has played Oak Grove in the Class 6A playoffs, the Warriors have gone on to reach the championship series. Two of those three times, they won it all. Tonight, the Admirals had a chance to rewrite that history in game one of the South State playoffs.

Admirals win 7-3. They’re one win away from State.
Elsewhere, Pearl River Central and Hattiesburg played a crazy one tonight. Hattiesburg Head Coach Joe Hartfield was ejected from the game and proceeded to throw a bucket of balls onto the field. Blue Devils choke away a 8-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh as the Tigers win it 9-8.
In Pascagoula, Resurrection Catholic comes up short at home, falling to Nanih Waiya 6-3.
