Helping Light Foundation Donates to American Legion
A local non-profit donates funds to help purchase bicycles for disabled veterans.
The Helping Light Foundation presented the Gautier-Vancleave American Legion with a thousand dollar check during tonight’s meeting. The funds will be used to purchase bicycles from AMBUCS. AMBUCS is a company that focuses on creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.
CFO of the Helping Light Foundation Robert Deming tells News 25 that it was important to find a way to give back to the people who give so much to our country. “This is a way to demonstrate, in some form, our appreciation for their service. There’s no one that we hold higher than the men and women that sacrifice to protect us, to preserve the freedoms that we enjoy every day.”
The Helping Light Foundation plans to make donations to other American Legion chapters throughout southern Mississippi.
