Helicopter tour company offers a look at the MS Gulf Coast from the sky
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) –A helicopter tour company just made its way to the coast, offering locals and visitors the chance to see our beautiful coast from a whole new perspective.
Taking off from Million Air FBO at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, Redline Helicopter Tours just opened a new location right here on the coast.
We got strapped in, put on our headsets, and it’s time to take off.
“Everyone has said, you know ‘We’re so happy to have you, and it’s something the area’s needed for a long time,’” said Austin Edwards, Vice President of Redline Helicopter Tours.
Redline Helicopter Tours has been operating along the Mississippi Gulf Coast for only a few weeks, expanding to the area from locations in Corpus Christi, Amarillo, and Memphis.
The new attraction is giving locals and tourists alike a bird’s-eye view of the coast, offering breathtaking perspectives of Biloxi and Gulfport’s beaches, casinos, harbors, and everything else the Mississippi Gulf Coast has to offer.
“Normally, what we do, it’s the first time for people being in a helicopter, so we take a lot of pride in what we do. And we have a variety of flights that go anywhere from $49 a person to $250, so we try to offer something for everyone to make it the most affordable and fun,” said Edwards. “I flew a couple yesterday — it was their first time in a helicopter. They were from the local community and they just absolutely loved seeing their home from the air.”
We took to the skies during the day, but the views don’t stop when the sun goes down. Redline also offers night flights, giving passengers a front-row seat to a Gulf Coast sunset — or a whole new perspective as the coastline comes alive with lights after dark.
“Our biggest thing is we like to get involved with people and we love to give them an awesome experience,” he said. “We’re open seven days a week, weather and maintenance permitting. That of course dictates everything. We’re open from 2-10 p.m. everyday, so day or night — whatever you prefer.”
After soaring above The Sound and circling Gulfport and Biloxi from the air, we safely made our descent — wrapping up an experience that truly gives you a new view of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
