Healing for Hendrix fundraiser update

This past weekend, the City of Long Beach banded together for one cause.

Saturday, the City of Long Beach hosted a city-wide fundraiser for a Long Beach police officer’s son, Hendrix.

A total of seventeen businesses gave percentages of their purchases to help with his medical issues.

Some businesses even got creative with the event like Bankhouse Coffee. They created medium roast coffee and named it ‘Healing for Hendrix’ blend. Coast Roast Manager Tanner Montella said, “We are honestly overwhelmed by the support the community gave. I mean we sold out of all the bags we had pre-done for it and we like to think it was a huge success and we’re really thankful the community came out and showed their support the way they did. They knew what they were coming for and I mean they still showed their support and even got coffee drinks and mugs and stuff with it but they knew what they were here for and it was for the Hendrix blend.”

Along with business funds, an additional $13,800 were raised on his GoFundMe account.
