He was on probation for sex crimes in Florida. He’s charged again in Mississippi.

A Waveland man is in jail today, charged with sex crimes against a minor child.
Waveland Police say 64-year-old Frederick Robinson of Waveland was arrested Thursday night. He is charged with sexual battery and two counts of touching a child for lustful purposes. He was taken to Hancock County jail and is awaiting a bond hearing.
Investigator Eddie Hursey said police received a complaint on Saturday by the 15-year-old girl and her father. Hursey said forensic interviews were conducted and there was enough evidence to charge Robinson.
Hursey said Robinson, a Coast native who joined the military, came back to the area after being released from prison, where he served a 15-year sentence for aggravated battery.
“He has a history of crimes involving sex with children,” Hursey said.
He was on probation but was able to transfer his probation to Mississippi. Hursey said he was not registered as a sex offender in the state. He was, however, prohibited from unsupervised contact with minors unless it was approved by the court — a condition of his probation.
Hursey said the alleged offenses occurred in Robinson’s home. He was considered a friend of the family, Hursey said.
The investigation is ongoing and Hursey said there may be other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call Waveland Police at 228-467-3669.
