‘Have a Heart Month’ raising awareness for heartworm positive dogs at Humane Society of South MS

February is ‘Have a Heart Month’ at the Humane Society of South Mississippi and the crew there is dedicating the entire month to raising funds and awareness for all heartworm positives dogs in their care.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi currently has 55 heartworm positive dogs in their care with additional strays entering the building each day.

It would cost approximately $30,000 to treat all the heartworm positive dogs in the shelter on any given day.

All month long, HSSM will be highlighting heartworm positive dogs in their care and raising funds to sponsor their treatment.

Having a dogs heartworm treatment sponsored through the Humane Society increases their chances of being adopted sooner, every little bit donated counts.
