Hattiesburg Zoo visits Harrison County Library in Orange Grove

Children at the library in Orange Grove had a wild experience this afternoon.

The Harrison County Library in Orange Grove had some special guests from the Hattiesburg Zoo for all ages. Everyone at the family camp had the opportunity to meet Hattiesburg’s eastern box turtle, Allie!

Allie is a full grown 30-year-old turtle and the kids got to get up close and personal with her as they examined and learned all about her shell.

Children’s Librarian Angie Williams says it brings her so much joy seeing people of all ages learn new things. “This particular program was for the whole family and every age. We’ve got little babies in there all the way up to grandparents, so yes, it’s for everybody and everybody’s learning something, that is perfect.”

The Orange Grove Library has something almost every day for children so go by and check it out.
