Hattiesburg Zoo debuts three new spider monkeys

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WXXV)- The Hattiesburg Zoo welcomes three new arrivals.

The three new baby spider monkeys are named Cider, Holly, and Juniper.  They made their debut to the public Monday.

The three girls originally came to the zoo in late 2025 and spent the past few months growing, learning, and receiving care in the zoo’s quarantine facility.

When they first arrived, each baby was smaller than a sweet potato and required bottle feedings five times a day. Now they are the size of a pineapple.

These three can be found inside the Asbury Discovery Center in a special indoor glass viewing area.

This will help them safely adjust to new sights, sounds, and faces.

When the time comes, they will be moved to the South American boardwalk.
