Harrison County Youth Court grant
Harrison County’s Youth Court works to keep children with their family or get them reunited as quickly as possible, when the parents are ready. Officials hope a new grant will help them do it better than ever.
The Harrison County Youth Court just received a $65,000.00 grant from the state to hire a therapist for drug treatment and testing. This therapist would work as a part of a drug court to help rehabilitate parents, rather than put them in jail. It’s a method that has been show to work nationwide.
The grant is for only a year, but youth court representatives believe if the therapist can produce positive results it will lead to future funding.
