Harrison County Working on Flood Damaged Roads
The waters may have long receded from flooding almost two weeks ago, but the problems caused by those waters are still standing.
High waters from those floods caused roads to wash out around Harrison County. To help residents, roads were given a quick fix so drivers wouldn’t be stranded, but now work begins for permanent fixes.
Mark West Road was completely washed out and now crews will be out fixing the roads and trying to make them safe for drivers in those areas. Harrison County District 2 Supervisor Angel Kibler-Middleton said, “Bert Dedeaux undermined really bad. So, that was really dangerous and they had to go in there and patch that. So, now we’re working at the more temporary fixes where it’ll be a permanent fix. We just got in there and worked fast to get where the residents could get back and forth from work and school.”
Once these roads are completed, Kibler-Middleton says then they can get back to other road projects they’d started before the flood.
