Harrison County Sheriff’s Office warning of scam

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office wants to make the public aware of another scam alert.

Multiple complaints have been made of scams using the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office phone number and information.

These scams claim to be a deputy collecting fines through bitcoin or other electronic forms to avoid arrest.

The sheriff’s office wants to remind the public they will never request money over the phone or email.

If anyone receives these calls or messages, you are asked to report the incident to the sheriff’s office via in person or by calling 228-897-1364.
