NEW DETAILS: One injured in Wednesday night shooting on Steeplechase Drive in Gulfport

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- One person was injured Wednesday night in a shooting near a home on Steeplechase Drive in Harrison County.

Investigators tell us the shooting happened around 8:45 P.M.

They found a man there suffering from a gunshot wound. That man was taken to an area hospital, where he’s listed in stable condition.

So far, the investigation has revealed that the shooting began as a physical altercation, which then escalated in an exchange of gunfire.

There is no word yet on any arrests connected to this case. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing.
