Harrison County Sheriff’s Office helping community members in need

We’re less than two weeks away from Christmas and there are plenty of ways to give back, including at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.

The department has introduced its annual Christmas Star Tree for this holiday season. The tree is located in the lobby of the Harrison County Jail and was put together to help community members in need have a merry Christmas.

All you have to do is pull a star and lend a helping hand by providing unwrapped gifts for those listed on your star. Sheriff Matt Haley said, “This star tree is something that we do every year here at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. Every star on the tree represents a family.”

Sheriff Haley says that some stars also represent community members with special needs. All unwrapped gifts must be turned into the warden’s office by Wednesday, December 18th.
