Harrison County Services getting new complex building

Over on Seaway Road in Gulfport sits the lot that will transform into Harrison County Services complex.

It’s a plan years in the making. The new 22,000 square foot facility will be home to code enforcement, planning/zoning, engineering, and the Orange Grove tax collector.

Harrison County Chief Engineer Jaci Turner tells News 25 these departments are currently housed in buildings that are dilapidated and too small.

She says the location on Seaway Road in the Bernard Bayou Industrial District will provide easy access to customers.

Bids for the project are currently being advertised and will be awarded in July.

Construction will last through late fall into early winter 2023.
