Harrison County man indicted and faces seven counts on sex crimes
A Harrison County man has been indicted on multiple sex crime charges by a grand jury.
Thirty-six-year-old Michael Gilbert was arrested Monday on the indictments of two counts of sexual battery, three counts of touching a child for lustful purposes, exploitation of a child, and felony child abuse.
He was taken to the Harrison County Jail and bond was set at $550,000.
Gilbert is accused of having sex with a female minor under the age of 16. He is also accused of molesting the minor.
In addition, he is charged with possession of child pornography and physically abusing the child, who was 15 at the time of the assault.
He is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on May 28th in Circuit Court.
