Harrison County law enforcement agencies preparing for Christmas Feed the Needy meal

Harrison County law enforcement agencies are gearing up for the 34th annual Christmas Feed the Needy.

Officers work together alongside volunteers to cook, plate, and deliver Christmas meals to locals in need.

The last day to request a meal is December 15th by 10 a.m., just call your local police department in Harrison County.

Sheriff-Elect Matt Haley has been volunteering for years. To him Christmas is all about giving, so helping others on Christmas Day is exactly what he wants to be doing. “People really shouldn’t have any reservations about asking for help. This time of year is a time for giving and people want to help. Nobody should have reservations about calling and asking. There’s really a bigger need than what you would think, than what the average person thinks. We average about 1,600 meals.”

If you would like to volunteer, show up at the Lyman Community Center at 7 a.m. on Christmas Day. You’ll be finished around 10 a.m.
