Harrison County firefighters, law enforcement officers assisting Louisiana first responders after Laura

Personnel from Harrison County Fire Rescue and various Harrison County law enforcement agencies and are in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana with the primary purpose of feeding first responders and assisting those affected by Hurricane Laura.

The twenty-five man team from Harrison County Sheriff Department, Harrison County Fire-Rescue, Biloxi, D’Iberville, Gulfport and Long Beach Police Departments, prepared and served around 400 meals to first responders working the hurricane response efforts.

The Coast officers will remain on site this week supporting local responders by feeding them three meals a day as well as going out and assisting Calcasieu Parish First Responders, doing emergency repairs at officers’ homes.

The deployed personnel say they are already planning subsequent trips to the area.
