Harrison County Fire Rescue saves dog from well

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Harrison County Fire Rescue responded to an interesting call over the weekend.

A homeowner was working on the flooring in the kitchen for a remodel when their dog, Rascal, found his way under the house and fell into an old well.

Rascal had been in the 20 foot well since Thursday night and fire rescue was granted permission to break up the floor above the well, opening it by using a sheet of plywood to prevent any falling debris from injuring Rascal.

After a few treats and almost an hour, Rascal was saved and reunited with his family!
