Harrison County Fair Opens
For the first time in 80 years, the Harrison County Fair kicked off today.
There was plenty of excitement to go around on opening night, kicking off with Christian Night. Live music from local Christian entertainers took over the stage. While fair-goers enjoyed an array of food options, of course you had your typical fair foods like corndogs and cotton candy, but a number of local food vendors are on hand as well like Captain Hooks Seafood, Pop Brothers. If you’ve been wanting to try Snow Boogers, but Stone County is a little far for you, they’re out there also.
There’s plenty of events on tap to look forward to for the rest of the week as well. Harrison County Supervisor Angel Kibler Middleton said, “We’ve got a lot of exciting things coming up. Tomorrow night we have a youth rodeo, Mr. and Ms. Harrison County Pageant. We’ll be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday and Saturday until Midnight. And we have a rodeo on Friday and Saturday. Everyone will have a good time. We have the midway, a kid’s zone, all kinds of food, any kind of food you can think of.”
The fair is open until Sunday. Admission is free, but some inside attractions do cost money. For more information, search Harrison County Fair on Facebook.
