Harrison County Emergency Management monitoring winter forecast

Harrison County Emergency Management is monitoring the forecast that calls for multiple days of freezing temperatures next week.
Current forecasts have dangerously low wind chills starting Sunday and carrying into the week.
Harrison County officials remind residents that taking steps to prepare for the freezing temperatures now will keep people, plants, pets and pipes safe when the temperature starts to drop.
Stratton suggests:
  • Make sure pipes are protected
  • Make sure pets have somewhere inside to go in the cold weather
  • Make sure to check on neighbors who might need some extra help.
  • Make sure to stock up on supplies like food, water and batteries in case of power outages.
  • Make sure to monitor weather reports and emergency management pages for the latest updates.
