Harrison County EMA warns of flooding concerns

The Harrison County Emergency Management Agency warns residents that flooding is one of the biggest concerns during the rain event.

The water from the rainfall has to go somewhere, meaning low-lying areas like rivers. All of the rivers in our county will be cresting by Thursday evening.

The Biloxi River is already above flood stage and is expected to crest by Wednesday night. Harrison County EMA Director Matt Stratton said, “If you live along the waterways you need to take this situation seriously and make sure your property is secured and that you’re ready to go into the evening hours tonight in a safe location. We do expect travel to be an issue tonight and going into tomorrow.”
