Harrison County EMA gives update on weather going forward
The Winter Weather Advisory is expiring for South Mississippi, but we’re still looking at a hard freeze tonight.
News 25 spoke with Harrison County EMA Director Matt Stratton today about what you need to know to stay safe.
Stratton says the threat on our roads isn’t bad right now. Instead, he’s turning his focus to the temperatures which are expected to plunge below freezing tonight.
That’s why Coast shelters are keeping their doors open through the weekend. Stratton said, “With the temperatures warming from this point on, freezing rain danger should be decreasing significantly. Really the focus is shifting towards those cold temperatures. Also, I want to make sure everyone remembers that you need to protect your four P’s: your people, pets, plants and pipes.”
Stratton reminds everyone to pay attention to the below freezing temperatures this weekend.
