Harrison County Election Commission testing equipment
The final checks and balances are complete as voting precincts are all set for primary elections.
The Harrison County Election Commission held a public testing for voting equipment today that will be used during the primary. It’s done to ensure voters will have a fair and accurate election process.
Today, election commission members were testing out the ballot scanners and tabulators that are being used to tally votes.
Becky Payne, the Harrison County commissioner for district two, says it is important to be transparent. “We had a public test at noon and basically, that’s doing an L and A, which is logistics and accuracy on the machine, to show that the machines are set correctly, they work correctly, from the database.”
The polls will open tomorrow at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
