Harrison County deputy shot by his own gun resigns

Many people along the Coast are still wondering what exactly happened during the July 28th investigation where a Harrison County deputy was shot with his own gun.
Authorities are now confirming that the deputy resigned from the sheriff’s department on September 1st.
The deputy’s identity, as well as any new information on the investigation, has not been released. The deputy said he was parked in his patrol car when someone attacked him. Officials spent weeks searching for a suspect the deputy described as a white man with gray hair and driving a white pickup truck.
The investigation led to only dead ends and more questions as the Biloxi Police Department never found evidence proving another person was at the scene.
