Harrison County deputy killed in motorcycle accident

South Mississippi is in mourning after a much-loved Harrison County Sheriff’s deputy was killed in an accident while he and his wife were riding their motorcycles in Jackson County this weekend.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell says Harrison County Deputy Glenn Everett Roe and his wife, Melanie Roe, were driving separate motorcycles on Old Fort Bayou Road Saturday when the accident happened.

As they neared JF Douglas Road, a Toyota pickup truck turned and both motorcycles hit the truck on the passenger side.

Glenn Roe was pronounced dead at the hospital. His wife, Melanie, is in the hospital being treated for injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.

The accident remains under investigation.
