Harrison County bus driver motivates students

Surround yourself with someone who motivates you! Local bus driver Anthony Thompson motivates the kids on his bus daily. Last week he provided them with t-shirts motivating them to be their best.

Last Friday, 40 students at Bel-Aire Elementary in Gulfport walked off the bus with some words of encouragement.

Bus driver Anthony Thompson wanted to remind each and every one of the kids they’re magnificent, fabulous, and extraordinary.

The t-shirts were sponsored by Community Bank. The orange and blue design was inspired by school colors and the goal is to have a motivational t-shirt for each student who attends the school.

Mr. Thompson will be creating hoodies and sweat suits for students to wear reminding them they are someone who matters. “It’s a clothing line and it’s by my organization COAAC which is Coalition of African American Communities and we’re backed by a couple of banks. Community Bank backed this project here. When they get on the bus and I see them with their shirt on, it makes me feel good that they’re thinking positive and they’re wearing something that’s positive.”

Mr. Thompson hopes to continue to spread positivity and motivation among students, hoping to one day get the entire school in one of his ‘I Am’ shirts.
