Harrison County battles house fire that began in fireplace

Harrison County fire crews battled a house fire that damaged a home on Woodland Way on Monday night.

Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan said crews from CRTC and Pass Christian Fire Department assisted with the blaze, caused by a fire in the fireplace.

Sullivan said crews responded to a number of calls for downed trees and power lines overnight due to the severe weather that included high winds, rain and quarter-sized hail.

No injuries were reported.
