Harrison Central Softball: Jhericka Strickland signs with MGCCC
As one of the perennial powers in Mississippi high school softball, Harrison Central is known to produce quite a few next level players. This morning, one of the Red Rebelettes joined those collegiate ranks.
Following her senior year, Jhericka Strickland is heading up to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, having officially signed her national letter of intent with the NJCAA.
The offensive sparkplug also plays an impressive shortstop for the Red Rebelettes, who finished just two wins shy of claiming the 6A state championship in 2018.
Head Coach Jimmy Parker says Strickland is one of the smartest players he’s ever coached and she says she got out of it what she put into it. “It means a lot to me. My family and friends coming out to support me, and just being able to say that I did it and that I’m going to the next level to play. It means a lot. Blood, sweat and tears. Dedication, and just everything, you know? It becomes life, a part of your life,” said Strickland.
Harrison Central senior pitcher Madison Alexander also signed today on the Hattiesburg campus of William Carey.
