Harrison Central alum guides Ole Miss to super regional

Since the end of the regular season, Harrison Central alum Kaitlin Lee has thrown all 718 pitches for the Ole Miss softball team. The Rebels have responded with seven straight wins during that span.
Now, they’re on to their first super regional appearance in school history as a result of hosting their first ever regional over the weekend.
The Cinderella story is practically writing itself with Lee starring as Cinderella. The former Red Rebelette and MGCCC Lady Bulldog has held the opposition to just five runs since the start of the SEC tournament.
After every game, the MVP continues to trade in her cleats for the pair of glass slippers. “I think it hits me every night. I kind of sit down and I like to re-watch our games, and I’m thinking like my goodness, is this real? Are we really experiencing this, and who really thought that we would do this, right here, right now? And I mean from the day that I stepped here it was our goal to host a regional, and now we got to host a regional and now we’re going to the supers. And our goal is to win that thing and go and play with the best of the best once again, and I think we can hang with the big dogs so I think it’s just awesome,” said Lee.
Lee and the Rebels will face a tall task on the road at 5th ranked UCLA, starting with game one of the best of three series Thursday at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
