Harrah’s Gulf Coast Named Among Best Places to Work by Mississippi Business Journal
Mississippi Business Journal’s 2014 Best Places to Work in Mississippi published their results after issuing a poll among local residents to determine the best workplaces in the region. This year marks the fourth time Harrah’s Gulf Coast, formerly the Grand Biloxi Casino, Hotel and Spa, has been given the honor. The newly re-branded Caesars Entertainment resort earned their rank, in part, due to their comprehensive and robust health care plans, generous benefits packages, free legal service, uniforms, and meals. Further adding to their happiness in the work place, is the opportunity to receive quarterly bonuses.
“Our resort is fortunate to have the hardest working and most upbeat team members in the region,” said Jonathan Jones, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s Gulf Coast. “Our company inspires grownups to play and we cannot encourage that sentiment or successfully bring that experience to our guests, if it’s not first felt and championed by our team members. Our attitude is our culture, and no one brings that to fruition better than our employees; but it first starts with how we treat and take care of our staff- our family.”
The resort’s commitment to fostering a healthy and happy work environment is always a priority for the executive team and they are always looking for fun and innovative ways to build relationships across departments, both for the frontline and back of house staff. Moreover, yearly surveys are conducted to measure employee satisfaction and receive feedback for how to improve operations.
To celebrate their achievement among businesses in the South, every employee at Harrah’s Gulf Coast was treated to a free buffet at Flavors on Thursday.
