Harrah’s Gulf Coast Beer Mile at the Blind Tiger

The running festival continued on Saturday with a race that might not have required as much skill as the others, but it seems like the participants had a bit more fun.

Saturday was the first Harrah’s Gulf Coast Beer Mile at the Blind Tiger. Athletes could compete in teams or individually to run a mile and drink four beers while doing so.

Founders of the event call the beer mile, the ‘official happy hour’ of the race weekend. Beer Mile co-founder Danny Bourgeois said, “Throwing a beer mile in the middle of a running festival is a great way to release a little steam, especially when the weather has been a little rough. We are amazed at how many people showed up to participate in this and we are excited to have it as a part of our running festival.”

Over 120 people participated in the Beer Mile.
