Harper McCaughan students set up fundraiser to help teacher
LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- Students at Harper McCaughan Elementary School came together to surprise one of their teachers.
The sixth-grade student council took action and put together a fundraiser to support their beloved teacher Leslie Beeman after she and her family lost their home in a fire over fall break.
Last week, students and staff paid $1 to wear a hat or costume to school.
The student council then surprised Ms. Beeman with the funds raised.
Together the students raised over $600.
