Harlem Globetrotters Face Washington Generals in Biloxi
For the first time in five years, the Globetrotters faced the infamous Washington Generals. The last time the Globetrotters lost was to the Generals was back it the 60s, and now the Generals are out for revenge. Deondre "Dragon" Taylor is best known for his dunking skills. He says the greatest part of being a Globetrotter is: "Just being able to put smiles on kids’ faces. We travel everywhere and it’s good to have opportunity to meet all these new people and make them have fun."
Fun is exactly what the Globetrotters bring to their show. Whether it’s through incredible ball handling, wizardry, rim rattling dunks, trick shots, hilarious comedy, or their fan interaction, the whole family is expected to have more than a few laughs.
More than just cool tricks and entertainment, the Harlem Globetrotters encourage all of their audience members to support a child through World Vision. Tammy “T-Time” Brawner, a Globetrotter, says, "World vision is an organization that we are partnered with and they help establish a self-sustaining community for children and families all over the world and we’re all about that. We go all around the world and we see all kinds of people and we’re all about making a difference and putting a smile on people’s faces. We go out here and do it every day and we just want people to chip in and do the same thing."
After the game, Globetrotter stars signed autographs and took photos with fans. The Globetrotters’ next stop will be in Mobile, Alabama.
