Hanukkah Begins
People of the Jewish faith will start their festivities tonight as Hanukkah begins. The eight-day Jewish celebration honors “the rededication of the second temple in Jerusalem.” Perhaps the most well-known Hanukkah tradition is the lighting of the menorah which has nine candles. For this reason the holiday is also known as the festival of lights. Those celebrating will also enjoy traditional foods, exchanging of gifts and playing games over the eight day long holiday festival.
