Hanshaw Road bridge in Ocean Springs to close to thru traffic

Ocean Springs, MS – Starting on March 5, 2025, Hanshaw Road Bridge will be closed to thru traffic from U.S. 90 to Old Spanish Trail until further notice.

Monday March 3, 2025, the City of Ocean Springs received a Bridge Closure letter from the Office of State Aid Road Construction (OSARC) stating that the Hanshaw Bridge must be closed until repaired or replaced.

The State must complete a re-inspection before the bridge can be reopened. At this time, there is no estimated time of completion or re-inspection.

Here are the following detour routes to direct traffic around the closure.

From U.S. 90:

  • S. 90 west to Park Road, south to VFW Drive, east to Knapp Road, north to Government Street/Old Spanish Trail, east to Hanshaw Road
  • S. 90 east to Highway 57, south to Old Spanish Trail, west to Hanshaw Road from Old Spanish Trail:
  • Old Spanish Trail/Government Street west to Knapp Road, south to Knapp Road to VFW Drive west to Park Road, north to Highway 90, east to Hanshaw Road
  • Old Spanish Trail east to Highway 57, north to U.S. 90, west to Hanshaw Road

This closure is until further notice. Please be mindful of extended travel time during this closure and observe all traffic detour signs.
