Hands-on animal experiences at Wild Acres in McHenry

It’s fun to see a wild animal, but what if you could safely touch one? One animal sanctuary in McHenry gives you that chance.

Wild Acres gives visitors a close-up experience with capybaras, kangaroos, and porcupines.

Wild Acres Owner Cody Breland shares that the facility not only gives a unique experience, but also provides care for the animals. “We allow opportunities for families, schools, and individuals to come out and take a guided experience where they walk through our facility and learn about the animals here. The plus is there are certain animals you get to interact with. Here at Wild Acres, we have a wide range of wild animals, a lot of cool things some people go their whole lives without seeing. We are blessed to have them in our care and to work with them every day.”
