Handling traffic during Cruisin’ the Coast

There is a lot of construction going on across the Coast, but it’s not putting a damper on Cruisin’ the Coast.

All lanes of traffic will be open on I-10 including Menge Avenue.

The I-110 closure will have the biggest impact. All southbound traffic on I-110 towards Biloxi will be required to take the Bayview Avenue Exit.

MDOT has increased the green-time on that light to help increase traffic flow, but you can still expect some congestion.

Other entrances to Highway 90 include 609 and Popps Ferry.

One of their main ways of avoiding traffic is putting Cruisin’ events in all cities across the Coast. Cruisin’ the Coast Director Woody Bailey said, “What I try to do is spread out the event as best I can to eliminate traffic in certain areas. A lot of people, of course, the coliseum is a popular area because we have an auction and a swap-meet going on there. But we have events going on throughout the week that help disperse traffic and move traffic along.”

The Cruisin’ team will be putting out signs to help direct traffic and keep it moving smoothly.
