Hancock Whitney officials to ring open Nasdaq Stock Market on Monday
Hancock Whitney Bank will celebrate 125 years in business on Monday by ringing the bell Monday to signal the opening of the Nasdaq Stock Market.
The bank actually celebrates its anniversary in October.
Hancock Whitney (HWC) leaders participating in the ceremony that is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. local time include President & CEO John M. Hairston, Chairman of the Board of Directors Jerry L. Levens, and members of the company’s executive management team.
This bell-ringing honors Hancock Whitney’s founders; past and current dedicated associates who have carried on the core values at the heart of Hancock Whitney; and shareholders, clients, and communities for their continued confidence and trust.
Hancock Bank and Whitney Bank were both founded in the late 19th century to help thriving Gulf Coast communities manage growing prosperity. The banks shared historical, geographical, cultural, and leadership connections for well more than a century.
In 2011, Hancock and Whitney came together to form one strong company. In 2018, 100 years to the date of the first official business transaction between the two banks, the company renamed its 1899 bank charter “Hancock Whitney Bank” and rebranded as “Hancock Whitney” to pay tribute to both banks’ extraordinary legacies.
